INTERNATIONAL DAY

This week we have had students from Shotoku School in Gifu Japan visiting our school. There were four adults and around eight to ten Shotoku students. On Tuesday we had an assembly to celebrate them coming to our school and country. Mr Galloway and the headmaster of Shotoku School signed a contract to make G.S.N.S friends with Shotoku school for the next four years. On Friday we had another assembly to celebrate International Day. The students from Japan did a dance on the stage for us. Everyone from G.S.N.S went up on stage starting with Room 8 to parade in their costumes. The assembly lasted about 50 minutes in total including getting ready. There were four kids up on the stage organising things like when to come up on stage in the parade and talking and saying thank-you. Here are some pictures of the day… By Ben

  2. Thank you Ben for explaining International Day. We can see how important it is to recognise the many nationalities that attend George Street School. The photos of the children in national costume were bright and colourful. We very much enjoyed the two poems about the Senior Camp. Your descriptions and feelings you had and overcame regarding challenging activities were great.
